Aim
Popularize the notion of gender through publicity of
Land Contract Law and case-dealing to promote legal
consciousness and gender awareness among leaders and
the masses and enhance legal protection of women’s
land rights.
Goal
● Publicize the Land Contract Law to promote legal
consciousness
● Conduct training on the Land Contract Law with a
gender perspective to urge the leaders and masses to
lawfully protect women’s land rights consciously
● Handle infringement of women’s land rights to
safeguard women’s enjoyment of their land rights
Activities
● Exhibit mobile posters (on vehicles) to 17 towns
and villages in the county to publicize the Land
Contract Law and the Women’s Law
● 5 TV lectures
● 18 times law publicity activities on market day
jointly with the county Rural Working Committee and
Rural Economy Center, 10, 000 copies of pamphlet of
the Land Contract Law, 7, 000 copies of manual on
women’s land right protection and 2, 300 person/time
site counseling have been provided.
● 78 training activities have been conducted on the
Land Contract Law involving 950 cadres and 3,000
villagers
● 21 cases were handled
● Conducted research in women’s land rights issues
and sponsored seminars on policy advocacy and
judicial improvement jointly with Peking University
Law School
Achievements
● Awareness of lawful protection of rural women’s
rights is created which encourages women to actively
resort to legal protection
● Legal consciousness is promoted among rural cadres
so that they can abide by the law in dealing with
women’s land rights conflicts
● The county Party’s Committee and the government
issued Opinions on Practical Protection of Farmers’
Lawful Rights and Properly Solving Conflicts over
Land and Trees Contracts to actively resolve women’s
land rights issues. The county Women’s Federation
was involved to be in charge in the problem of
women’s land rights.
● Representative cases of women’s land rights have
been handled successfully, where the court has made
quite favorable decisions for women. |
